Pöyry was awarded the complete engineering for the Hallsta Max PM11 rebuild project in October 2000.
The investment included a total replacement of the old paper machine with a state-of-the-art improved newsprint papermaking line. The new paper machine with a capacity of 330 000 tons per year started up in April 2002.
Previous Pöyry projects for Holmen AB include Braviken PM51, PM52, PM53, Iggesund BM2 and Hallstavik PM12.
The Hallsta Max PM11 featured demanding layout design and a very strict shutdown schedule.
